This book is heading straight for the 9+ ratings. It gets better every month. Seriously, I don’t know what to tell you if you aren’t already reading this comic. Oh, howsabout Savage Land girl trafficking? Or Moon Knight vs. a dinosaur? Or emotionally damaged Iron Fist? Cause this issue has all three and man is it awesome. Just awesome. Not that girl trafficking is awesome, it’s not, okay now I’m back pedaling. What I mean is that Abnett and Lanning are adding a realness to Marvel’s street level universe that I haven’t seen before. It’s gritty and real without being laughably so; all the grit is earned. And Brad Walker’s artwork, wow. This is the next big Marvel talent. He will be drawing an event book within five years, he is amazing.
Is this the best book Marvel’s putting out right now? According to my stats, only Hickman’s Fantastic Four comes close.
So everyone out there, BUY HEROES FOR HIRE. I don’t want it to get canceled, because if it does I’ll have to track down all you fools down who aren’t reading this and go all Moon Knight on you.
My Score: 8.9
